Gallery Episode is pleased to present “Sublime Moments: Our Lives,” a solo exhibition featuring Korean-American photography artist Daihan Jeong. After moving to the United States at a young age and receiving inspiration from the cityscapes of New York City, Jeong pursued his passion in photography – gaining a BFA from Stony Brook University. His exploration of black and white photography and still-life subjects garnered attention in two online exhibitions, showcasing his ability to evoke emotion and capture intricate details. “Sublime Moments: Our Lives” is a collection of photographs that not only explore – but celebrate – the extraordinary in the ordinary.

As a street photographer, Daihan Jeong is on a quest to reveal the hidden poetry of everyday life. Inspired by the concept of the decisive moment, popularized by the master Henri Cartier-Bresson, his work delves into the fleeting instants that often go unnoticed in the cacophony of modern living. In this fast-paced world, it’s all too easy to overlook the moments of magic that surround life. Yet, amidst the chaos, there exists a quiet elegance waiting to be discovered—a fleeting glance, a shared smile, a dance of light and shadow. These are the sublime moments that define our existence, offering glimpses of transcendence in the midst of the mundane.

With his exhibition at Gallery Episode, Daihan Jeong hopes to offer visitors a chance to find beauty in the unexpected. “Sublime Moments: Our Lives” will open on May 6, with an opening reception on Tuesday, May 7 from 6 to 8pm. The exhibition will be on view from May 6 to May 13.
